This feature would be really helpful. In addition, since we are logging in to multiple devices like laptops, phones, iPads it would be better if the system could allow us to choose which device to ring first or decide not to ring at all.
This feature is being developed now as part of overall User's call handling renewal/enhancements. In the new flow Desktop might be set up separately from Mobile, and also in any place of User's Ring List.
This has been an idea for over two years. The reports in the analytics portal show they already have the infrastructure in place to distinguish between the mobile app, web app, and desktop app. Why not allow us to select which devices ring based on these categories?
Yes, these need to be separate. I have executives that do not want it ringing on their desktop but does want it to go to mobile app. I can do it by forwarding to my cell phone, but then I have to enter a 1 to accept the call. I cannot ask an executive to do that.
My customer suggested to separate the ring of mobile app and desktop app so that once they are on another call using 3rd party application installed to their desktop it wont affect the call
Please please please get this added ASAP, RingCentral! This is an elemenntary feature that our old phone system had. Please focus on this idea first and foremost!
Almost all our employees have requested this functionality. We need to be able to ring only the desktop app while we are in the office and ring only the mobile app while we are away. Please make this a priority, RingCentral!
We have staff that uses their mobile app as their main phone line, but when they are on the phone and a call starts to ring on their desktop it can become overwhelming. We can't mute the desktop to avoid hearing calls coming in due to other notices needing to be paid attention to. Please review at a faster pace as this is much needed. Thank you!
Just started using RC, I can't believe that this is a problem. It seems completely ridiculous that this was even developed in this manner let alone is still designed this way. I would love an explanation as to why this isn't a priority development fix.
Any update on this long outstanding and essential request? It is causing us problems without being able to separate desktop and mobile apps for incoming call workflows.
Please implement this idea, it is another critical feature that is missing. We are using headsets that connect to computer for desktop app, but also to mobile for mobile calls. When desktop and mobile app ring simultaneously the headsets get confused as they are ringing on both places. Need to be able to ring desktop first, then if that is not answered to go to mobile.
I have seen requests for this for a long time, with promises that it will be implemented in next release, but to no avail.... I disabled the mobile App as I do not want my cell going off when I am at my desktop, which is a long time during the day...
Separating ring for mobile app and desktop is the most essential feature required to smoothly operate RingCentral. There should also be an option at Admin portal to choose which app should ring first.
Ring Desktop app for 20-30 seconds before ringing Mobile app

GoToConnect can do this. Right now we're stuck with call forwarding to our cell phone number, which means we have to choose either our work number for the Caller ID to know an inbound call is work-related but not see who's calling, or pass-through...
Separate desktop and mobile apps in incoming calls

Separate the Desktop app and Mobile app from incoming calls so that only one rings at a time, so my phone isn't ringing while I'm at my desk, and can arrange them in an order so If I don't respond after 4 or so rings, it goes to my phone in case I...

In Call Handling Settings, I find that I cannot move the entry "Desktop and mobile apps" in between two entries for phone numbers. Please allow this. Example of use. I want my "Existing Phone" to ring first because If I am in the office I can pick...
PLEASE create an option to ring to the desktop app prior to the mobile app. Not only is it annoying to have multiple devices ringing, it can create issues with multi-point bluetooth headsets. I see this feature requested again and again in the com...
Would love to have this feature! Quite annoying when logged into multiple devices in the same room and everything is ringing.

We need it at our workplace so we aren't getting Call Queue calls while out of the office, but are still available to be reached by co-workers.

If you could get the desktop app and mobile app to ring separately, that would be Amazing!!
I want my computer to ring first, then my cell. I don't need my cell going off every time I get a call when I'm at my desk.
