Our company has been using RingCentral Meetings for quite some time now, and this was a smooth rollout using the Ring Central Meetings for Outlook plugin. People in our company when in Outlook are on the mail page 90% of the time and having the option to schedule or start an instant meeting right on that page made it quick and easy. This I believe is the main reason RingCentral meetings was adopted so quickly and we were not pressured by the Execs to visit Microsoft Teams, Zoom or other platforms. We have a limited number of people that have adopted using the RC App and I would say 99.9% of the meetings we create are in Outlook. Now with RingCentral Video we have tested it with the RingCentral Scheduler, and it takes more steps to do the same thing because we have to go to the calendar first, create and appointment and THEN use the scheduler. Also we do not have the option in there to create an instant meeting as we could with RC Meetings. The President of our company would tell us that we are going backwards by creating more steps. If something is working fine with less steps, it is a deterrent to adopt a new process that takes more steps for new features that they have not determined the value of yet.
The new Outlook plug-in (RC Scheduler) is in dire need of rework & improvements. The log-in information is lost very often, seems like every 24-hrs. The RC app doesn't have any problem remembering the log-in information on the same machine, why can't RC Scheduler maintain the log-in information in conjunction with the main RC app? Why do we have to sign in separately? Why does it sign off so often?
Furthermore, the options constantly reset to default. The default cannot be adjusted anywhere. The options included in RC Scheduler by default are not useful.
The default text that gets inserted into the outlook invite body needs improvements too. First of all, it needs to be customizable, but the first line at the top says do not edit. Then please let the users edit this text somewhere in the settings, because it makes no sense to be sending out invites for a meeting taking place in Maine with a call in number in California. The old RC Meetings app had several different options for different phone numbers, the new updated app only has one.
Another issue is that for some reason the RC meeting invite text gets inserted at the bottom of the invite no matter where the cursor is. If I move it to the top of the invite, and if there's any changes made and Update button is clicked within RC Scheduler it re-inserts the invite all the way at the bottom again. Either let the user control where it is inserted or maintain the text position when updates happen.
I would like to also add since the Outlook plugin stop working, users are now unable to create meetings within a calendar event that has already been created. Very frustrating when something so simple yet super helpful to have is taken away. Please bring back this feature.
