We were told when we signed up all messages were able to be exported, specifically asked about this because we have otherwise backed-up our messages for 11+ years (many hundreds of thousands), today they told me they can only export internal chat... This is a major oversight on our part, and definitely RingCentral to not allow back-up of what is only simple text communications. Not to mention you cannot even change length of time SMS messages are held on server. This is a basic manipulation of very -small- amounts of data, that even Blackberry devices could do back in 2010. RingCentral, I hope you're ashamed!
Required to keep all communications with our clients in our CRM. Providing a Link to transfer the SMS communication string directly to our CRM or let us export it as a PDF file for attaching to the Client file would be a game changer!
The inability to export SMS makes business owners (RC's customers) liable for following instructions given by OUR customers. In the two years this has been under review, RC engineers / web designers have enabled changes to the UI and web app, making it prettier, but (as far as I can tell) adding zero to the functionality. PLEASE lake this a priority. By the way, we can already see the data in the web-app. We can select texts (one message at a time) and delete. But not copy, print or export. Again, PLEASE!
Ensure the metadata log is also available as part of export, and messages sent from Company RC colleague from Text option should categorize as SMS instead of Glip.
