Add a feature where you can use the app while also using a desk phone. Background: We came from Mitel, where the app worked with the physical phone. So, if you were on your physical desk phone and you also had the desktop app open, the app would show your active call, and you were allowed to click actions on the app such as transfer a call directly to someone's voicemail by clicking 2 things, then you would hang up your physical phone.
So to make outbound sales calls, I do not have to use a headset?
Yes, thank you for getting this into Beta!!!! One feature that needs to be added is the ability to do a consultative or assisted transfer. This is a must have feature for receptionists as well as executive assistants. Thanks!
This is currently in Beta. Has a few restrictions but a step forward...
100% Agree!!! We need this! 1st and foremost, the sound quality of a phone call on the handset is hands down far better than what you get from earbuds, computer speaker/mic or an expensive headset. Second, for those that don't want to use those other devices then don't use the app at all, missing out on other things the app offer. Very costly to pay per user for software no one is using because they are just picking up their handsets. Feels like a step backwards from our 10-year-old Shoretel System.
Please add this, would be a huge help.
I agree. We just migrated from Mitel as well. My staff can add all of their contacts to the RingCentral app. But most of my employees work on desktop computers without a microphone and speakers. So instead of clicking on a phone number in the app and having it dial the desk phone, they have to manually dial the number on the desk phone. Not very productive.
yes i would like to see this
Agreed with these comments. Worked well with Mitel and now that more and more of us are being migrated from Mitel to RingCentral, it is essential the Mitel 6900 series phones fully sync with the desktop app. If you are on a call, or set DND, it should sync between desk phone and app.
I would also love to be able to receive and respond to RingCentral sms via desktop
I would much rather use the desktop app with Ring Central if it's possible in conjunction with the phone. I loved this with Mitel. It made the phone experience much easier all around for everyone. I feel we are taking a step backwards if we don't use the desktop app.
This was a great feature with Mitel. Being able to use the desktop app made it easier to answer multiple lines, transfer calls, consult with other employees before transfering.
