It appears this was a feature in the Meetings App, but is not available in the current version of the Desktop App and our account does not allow us to run Meetings.
This is helpful when staff are in a video meeting and they want to hand off control to another presenter or tech support person.

What is the status of the remote control feature?
If this feature has been Implemented, can you tell us how to use it? I saw that the feature was supposedly as of April 12th but I cannot find it anywhere.
The status of this feature request has been changed to implemented, however I do not see that it is available in RingCentral Video yet. I do not see a way for a participant to allow remote control, nor do I see a way for the host to request remote control. Is there an updated version I need to download or something? Can you explain how this feature has been implemented? Perhaps I am not looking in the correct spot for the controls????

What does implemented mean? I am still not able to give remote control in the RC windows desktop app.
Last update from RingCentral said this would be available on April 12th. It is now May 3rd and the idea is still in "Planned" status. Is there any update? This entire move to RCV truly feels like a half-baked huge step backwards with the number of features that are still missing. Remote control has been a core feature of enterprise communication applications for years.
... Is there an updated date?
Hello All,
This feature will be available on the 12th of this month. Thank you!
This is a feature we rely on quite a bit and would need to see it in the next release of RCV please.
Our customer would like to have this feature, they have bee migrated already to the RCV
This is a much used and needed feature, which is available in competitor applications please add it back as quickly as possible.
This was the only reason we continued to stick with RC. Off to Zoom for now at least, bummer
Please merge in CUSTCOM-I-4412. I searched, but was using different terminology when I created my idea. I later found this existing idea.
Pls add this feature back!!! Why in the world did you remove it in the first place?!?
Hi Jessica,
I noticed another show stopper for us in RCV. We cant share audio during a meeting. We produce videos and need to be able to share them during meetings but cannot because we dont have the option to share sound when using the app.
Best regards,
Shannon

Hello Ring Central,
Has this feature in fact been committed for release during 4Q2021? Hope so! It is an essential feature.

We also found this to be an essential feature in the old app. We uninstalled the new one and redownload the old app and now have it working. If that was not available we would need to switch apps as well. Please bring it back.
This functionality is needed for the desktop app. We are moving away to a different solution because of it.
Just FYI, it looks like you can revert back to Meetings to get back the remote control feature . In the desktop client, go to Settings - Video - Video service and select RingCentral Meetings from the drop-down menu. To reset your users as an admin, go to the online Admin Portal and click Meetings - Video Service.
We were using meetings to take control of a company computer and work on it remotely. Why you would discontinue meetings and say that you will inable that feature in video in the future makes no sense to me. I guess it is time to move to Teams.
Depending on the timeline for this feature's implementation, it may hasten our staff's desire to move away from RingCentral and into Teams for meetings, chat, collaboration, etc.
This feature was used extensively in Meetings by our staff to assist with training and is necessary for them to work.
