We don't use HUD in general. We don't use RC as our primary UC client. We just need to be able to make and receive phone calls and faxes. The old app gave us a dial pad and everything was simplified. The new app is confusing to my users and difficult to use. We need the Favorites feature re-enabled in the Contacts section as well.
I think this new app is crap. It is way to confusing for someone who just wants to make phone calls. If we were a company with many employees, maybe some features might be useful, but I don't need nor want the majority of what you have forced upon me.
Not a fan of the Beta HUD. The App is not as multifunctional as I was expecting. Attached is my small monitor with the RC items I use throughout my day. My larger monitor has my work programs. We do not need tons of blank spaces, we need everything at our finger tips not switching between screens so much. Its wasting too much time.
It also appears to have broken my RingCentral Phone app HUD. All contacts now say Unknown or Presence not available.
In the new RingCentral Beta app - Help - About - Says Version: 21.2.10.452 Web, 21.1.30.746 Windows. But Windows (Control Panel - Programs and Features) and (Apps & Features) are both still reporting 21.1.30.1253 which is confusing.
This is less, I think, about the HUD itself but an issue with phone calls through RC App. If I attempt to add another caller (whether it's by my intervention or another party is calling me while I'm in another call), I don't have an option to simply join the calls. All I can do is merge them into a conference call. This feature is highly useful in the RC Phone app, especially if we simply want to drop a caller off the line. We lose this with the conference feature, and can't tell if the caller has truly dropped off the call.
The address book (O365 for me) does not recognize the number in the HUD all the time. Sometime it matches, other times does not.
Window sizing: if I reduce the horizontal width too far, we're left with scrolling over to get the on-hover features to call or message for that HUD contact.
Accessibility: digging through the RC App from Phone, then under HUD > Extensions is a bit cumbersome and leaves us with undocking as the only quick way of reaching what should be a very visible screen. A HUD (heads up display) should be easily visible, as it's namesake suggests. This brings me to a few feature requests now that we have it in BETA:
Features:
We already have HUD presence, just expand on it! What I mean is, while in the Messsages view and the direct message contacts and teams are visible, we can see if the extension is offline/busy/available/etc, and if we hover over the presence bubble for any of those extensions, it indicates somewhat what the colored bubble means. Why not add a line below the user in this view (which is very similar to the HUD view) which gives us this HUD status? This extra line would show what number the extension is in call with, or if they are in a Meeting, etc. Further, if you hover over the user in the Message view, give us those features to call or add to call, etc, like we have in the old HUD. By using what is already here, you negate the need to have an undocked pane, although please leave this as a feature for several reasons.
Optionally, allow another pane to be toggled so we don't need to hunt for the HUD in the navigation or pop out a new window; just an option to persistently keep the HUD available in a panel like the chat panel, contacts panel and menu panels.
I realize that this is in beta, and there is much more work to be done. I'm hoping the developers have plans to pull over everything that is RC Phone into RC App. Unfortunately, this is still not ready for me or my team to use in production. There are many nice things that have been developed into the RC Phone that we not only would really like, but must insist be brought over; otherwise, we'd be losing out on valuable features that make RC Phone and the service so great. The calling module in RC App is weak at best, and is missing quite a bit, which takes away from the HUD.
While it's great to have a new HUD implemented, I agree with Karla. You need to figure out a way to show more columns if your list is long enough. Lots of wasted space if you just full screen this new "HUD". Hopefully you can fix that before it gets out of BETA.
While it is responsive that HUD has finally been added, I'm still very disappointed. This is not a heads up display, it is a list. As I monitor 30+ phone lines, this allows me to see less than half on one screen and that is only if I minimize the font significantly. It is not helpful to force incessant scrolling for something that used to be easily accessible in a single view. I really think this new app has completely missed the mark.
We need this! Crazy that this has not been implemented already. Yet here we are a few weeks before we are going to be forced to use this new App and this feature is still not ready.
HUD is the most useful part of the desktop app, without it RC is not the company I want to partner with. Removing it without checking with your clients was stupid, I get 10 calls a week to change my phone system, I hang up on them, or I did... Get this back in or let me use the old app past May 3rd. Or you will lose clients. I have been yelling at everyone I can about this, it is an insanely bad decision by your team.
I would like to submit the idea on getting the HUD feature enabled on the Mobile App as well. Currently this is only available for the users on the desktop application and delegates are unable to monitor the calls through the mobile app. Please le...
The HUB feature is so helpful on the desktop phone app can you add it to the mobile Ring Central app? Since the RC phone app is not available on mobile anymore.
The HUD feature that existed in RC Phone app (classic) is missing from the new RingCentral Phone app. There is know way for a secretary to answer their boss' phone from the new system.
I know there is an idea for adding this feature to the desktop app, but I think it really needs to be on the mobile app as well. I want to be able to monitor calls from the mobile app, but currently I can only do that from the RC Phone app. The RC...
The RC Phone app uses a HUD, which allows users to see if other users are on active calls, available/unavailable, etc., but the RingCentral App does not. Having the HUD would help users know if another user is available for a transfer or not.
Make Unified App reflect the Classic RC App version of HUD
Merged
I'd like to see the Unified app offer the same HUD option as the classic version where you can select users all at once instead of one at a time like it's set up nowAnyone that users the HUD would benefit greatly as building the HUD isn't very int...
Currently the HUD only exists in the RC Phone app. our users currently have both apps ring on their PC with incoming calls. this causes confusion. If the HUD is added to the new RingCentral app, we can uninstall RC Phone.
Phone Favorites or HUD Options in RingCentral Desktop App
Merged
This is a feature currently available through the RingCentral Phone app that gives us the ability to quickly call specific people in our organization as well as have a quick glance of their current status. Not having this feature in the new app wh...
Please add the HUD feature on the new RC App. Also if you could add a to have at least 2 computers authorized for the classic app that would be much appreciated. Can you also add the feature to sync the DND status from the deskphone to the app, I ...
I would like to see this happen as well.

Would be great to add the HUD to the RingCentral Unified Desktop app. This would be especially useful for our Receptionist.
We need the HUD in the new app. This is not negotiable
Please make HUD available on RC App before getting rid of the Phone App for good. Thanks!
We need Hud Beta for the mobile app. How can they remove RC phone without transferring features over to RC APP?

I agree with the others. One column is not good.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled twice.
Several issues with this:

Good news everyone, HUD (beta) is available on the desktop on the desktop app starting today! Make sure to download the latest version of the app.
we need HUD! THE NEW APP IS HORRBILE.. NOT COMPLETLEY FUNCITONABLE.
SHAME ON YOU GUYS FOR FORCING TO CHANGE WHEN IT DOES NOT WORK!
im also having trouble with sending pictures! they are being sent to the app as html instead of jpeg! and im not receiving them on my email!
We are also looking for the HUD in the new RingCentral application.

HUD was a mian reason we chose RC as well. It is essential. No Hud, No more Ring Central.

We need HUD in the glip app on desktop for sure.
Need HUD, looking at alternative providers already since this was removed from the App
