Read notification for RingCentral messages

A high level description of the product or feature being requested A visual indication that message sent in Glip (via RingCentral App) is read by the recipient(s).
A typical use case scenario Send a message to a teammate, be able to see whether or not they have read the message so I know if I need to follow up.
Benefit of such feature Speed communication and trigger users if a phone call is required.

    Do you have any recent view on that feature request?
    I see that back in may 2022 there was no firm date known, is there anything plan for 2023?

    This is much needed and feels like such basic functionality - feels crazy that it was first suggested over two years ago and still hasn't been implemented!

    This is the one major blocker remaining for us switching the whole company completely to RC.

    This would be brilliant, this is the biggest complaint we have on users staying with teams. It would be great to have this implemented so we can finally ditch teams and stick to one solution!

    Please add this functionality ASAP, we want our 200 users to adopt this ASAP over Teams!

    @Becky Hensley - thank you for your reply. However, this thread is well over a year old, and the fact that ya'll don't have a firm date for this feature seems to indicate you aren't listening to your customers. :-(

    Unfortunately, we don't have a firm date, but it is a planned feature. We'll be sure to update here when we have additional details to share.

    Given the age of this thread/idea, the "Planned" tag, and the ubiquity of this feature among competetors, is there a target implementation date? I'd love to ditch Teams altogether, but this is definitely a snag.

    Frankly, I'm very surprised this isn't already part of the app. I just started using RingCentral upon a job change. I'm used to Teams, and this is a valuable function that already exists in Teams.

    This would be incredibly useful to make sure colleagues and directors have read key messages. At the moment I have to call the message recipient to check they have read my message - which is a bit pointless and wastes time since I could have called in the first place.

    Every major chat platform, like WhatsApp and co, has a feature like this and I a surprised that RC has not added this.

    We too don't see the feature of read receipts enabled in RingCentral messages !

    will this be something need to get on from support or what

    I completely agree with this ask. It would be great to know when a message has been read by the recipient. That said, it would also be nice to have a means for looking at a message without it being marked as 'read'. Other messaging apps call this 'peeking' at a message... you can right click on a name where a message is waiting and say 'peek' at the message to see what it says without marking it as 'read'.

    This is a critical need for workflow and efficiency - please also allow admins to turn on for the entire organization.

    Agreed, this is an essential feature that I'm surprised isn't there already. MS Teams has it and it's so useful to know if someone has read your message or not.

Read Receipts for RingCentral Chat

All major chat platforms (Teams, Slack, Rocketchat, etc) have read receipts, a visual indicator to tell you if the receipient of your message has viewed it. Have moved from those platforms, we're really missing this feature.

Option to have messages marked as "Read" when seen by recipient

I would like to have an option in settings that allows my chat messages to be marked as "Read" when seen by the recipient. This would be really helpful. Thanks!

Hello, I think it would be a great idea to show if a message that was sent was read or revived by the recipient.

Please add read receipts to inter-office messages.

On most other messaging services, you can see if the recipient has read your message. That does not appear to be available on Ring Central. It is important because without it the sender is left wondering if the recipient has seen the message...and...

Feature to know if the messages sent privately has been read already.

I would like to request to add the feature to know both parties that the messages sent privately has been read.

to add a confirmation as to when a message is opened or read in GLIP

It would be helpful to know when your message is opened and read in GLIP. This way you know when members on your team have read or seen the message you sent them. Eliminates guessing and possibly resending the message again.
