Text from the same main user number

we are unable to text from the main line

Benefit of such feature this is the main reason we have rc, without it it rc does not function for our business. I would like to use the main line as the receptionist to text from our business

    This is a critical feature to my insurance agency. I will absolutely switch services if this cannot be done. This was somehow set up before with a previous employee also having access to send and receive messages using the main company #. Now I can't get my new hire set up the same way! Very frustrating!!!

    Agreed this would be a huge enhancement and seems to be pretty straightforward. Clients can be directed to text a general phone number and then give us the ability to utilize different routing rules similar to call routing rules for a queue. But giving a manager or really all users apart of the group to see all text messages sent so someone can pick up a conversation if another individual is out of office.

    This needs to be added ASAP. It is very inconvenient to offer text functionality without an option for multiple devices to manage a single company number for sms purposes.

    Yes, I totally agree. Having a company SMS instead of Individual SMS is much more practical. If the individual is on holidays or sick etc.. then the rest of the team wont see the history of the chat etc. Its no different than advertising the main company phone number for the business. All calls go there and then get branched to individuals to handle the calls.

    This is a SERIOUS hole in functionality for any business that has more than 1 employee. This is causing serious issues that only ONE person can receive texts. They are bugged day and night with issues that don't apply to them.

    his feature is vital and should not limited to only 1 user. Other companies provide this within their desktop and phone apps.

    This is import for all users to be able to SMS from the main number. My prior provider easily supported this option.

    Last comment was from 2020. Is there an update on when this will be fixed? We were brought to the understanding that Ring Central could support, but without this feature we may have to switch to TalkRoute.

    Shared Text using the company main number could go to the Windows Cloud App Under a Team where users in that team could then send and receive company wide texts

    Hello,

    I too agree that more work can be done on shared sms accounts. I have been able to find a bit of a workaround, although it can use some improvements as well.

    What I have done for a couple customers that need to send/receive sms from their primary number is to make sure the number setup to route to a Call Queue, it can either be set to the queues Direct Dial number or you can setup the Auto Receptionist to route to a queue. I then have the end users log into their RingCentral Phone App as the Queue manager, ie. for the username use the Primary Number with the Queue extension and then use the Queue password for the password. All the different users can be logged into the queue at the same time and monitor any incoming sms or faxes and also reply to or start a new message using the primary business number.

    The down side is the users can't be logged into Queue and their account simultaneous within the same app so as a work around I have them use the RC Classic App for their direct call and message handling and then use the RC Phone App for handling the Queue messages. Also it appears that you can only log into the Queue using the RC Phone App, the Classic App or Web App doesn't appear to allow it.

    Hope this helps give you some options.

I'd like the ability to have all of my users respond to the SMS's for the main number.

instead of only having the operator be able to view and respond to SMS's from the main number, it would be great if we can create something similar to a call group for SMS's and choose who we want to have access to the company number for SMS.
