At the moment, automatic call recording is enabled for both inbound and outbound calls for all users and also on the main call queue. The problem when we make internal calls to another extension, we can still hear the call recording announcement. This is not necessary and it wastes time when connecting to the extension. It would be great if you can add an additional feature to turn it off during internal calls. Thanks

How does this expose RingCentral to any liability or vulnerabilities?
When an extension has call recording turned on that extension receives an email saying their calls are going to be recorded which should cover most of the consent laws at least in the United States.
Our control room answers multiple gate intercoms which have a 30 second time out. Removal of the call recording announcement would allow longer time for talking to end users and avoiding re-pressing of the button for another extra call which inevitably goes to another operator..
I also agree with Don on this, for internal calls only, RC wouldn't be exposed to anything, as that would/should be part of the organization's tech use policy that their calls are (or are not) being recorded. There is no need to have that time taken up each time they place an internal (extension only) call.

I disagree with your statement. How does an individual company's choice make you liable? And there is an indicator in the call that show's whether it is being recording, which would absolve you of any liability. Please reconsider your answer.

I wholeheartedly agree. We'd appreciate any update from RingCentral. This request has been open for years.
We're particularly invested in disabling the announcement message for call recording for certain users, whether the call is internal or external.
This should have been implemented by now. Time to open cases to get them to work on it.

Please make this happen. Like others it doesn't make sense to not have the ability to turn on or off the automatic call recordings for internal calls. Also make it so we can chose to have the announcement played for the internal calls.

Just thinking about joining RC - but I have to say, it worries me to see that such simple customer requests aren't getting implemented...

It seems like we get penalized when using a Single level IVR.
In the Multi level IVR I was able to record “silence” to avoid the recording. Unfortunately I cannot do the same when using the single level IVR.
Time to fix it.
Please disable the Call Recording Announcement if the calls were made internally / between Users to Users. It doesn't matter if the calls is recorded or not, so long as there is no more recorded announcement for internal calls only.

Definitely agree with this request for a feature update. My company loses a considerable amount of time listening to our custom call recording announcement every day.
