Doctors need to have a record of their conversations with patients. Calls are currently recorded and then manually transcribed for entry to patient records. It would be much simpler to cut and paste. RC already has the capability of transcribing voicemails, so this seems a logical extension and may be useful for other industries.

I was surprised that this feature is not available since RingCentral transcribes voicemails and meetings. The technology is already there. This would be a valuable feature.
As an update to my initial post, you need to play the recording so the audio goes through the mic you are using for the meeting. R/C will not transcribe audio from a video playing through the screen share.
I don't understand why the audio from a video call can be transcribed, but a phone call cannot. It really makes no sense, and it seems like the effort to incorporate it into voice calls should be minimal.
That said, there is a workaround that does not require another app. Download the audio recording of the phone call. Start a video meeting, share your screen, select transcribe and play the voice call recording.
Hi Randy,
You can use our RingCentral Video Meeting for your live transcription. This will be helpful for you and for your patients too. Here's the link to know more https://support.ringcentral.com/video/in-meeting-controls/using-live-transcription-feature-ringcentral-video-desktop-app.html. Thank you!
Thanks, this is helpful.
Randy, although this is not currently a feature of the current RingCentral product, there are apps that may be able to support your needs.
We'll keep this idea in the portal for further review, but will share a link to the RingCentral App Gallery for your perusal.
