Would love a user option that allows the on off of dynamically enabling Do No Disturb mode anytime user is in a RC meeting. No one really wants to hear phone calls come in when hosting or talking in a meeting. It is too difficult to toggle on off this mode manually every time a user enters and then is done with a meeting.
But all my users agree they would like a feature that auto puts them in DND when they are in a meeting for them.

This is now available for RCV in app! To turn on: navigate to Settings - Video - Allow incoming calls while in a meeting.
There is a an on/off option available for enablement.

Great idea works fine. Need the same on voice calls as having an incoming call ringing away while you're on an active call is annoying.
Initial request is clear and very necessary - the solution however is completely stupid and has nothing to do with the request.
Please do not link other ideas with low vote numbers and re-open this intitial request - which is not solved.

@ADMIN RESPONSE the "implemented" solution is not what the other 'merged' idea was.
We want to be able to have any synced Outlook / Google / etc Calendar Event ALSO change DND. It's not unreasonable at all.
This being resolved to simply have the description of 'RC Meetings' is not the same as the original request.
Please un-resolve this to address the merged idea.

The "solution" has ignored the initial request - for when a user is busy in the OUTLOOK CALENDAR. NOTE - This idea is merged. When using, Teams, Skype, RC, or any type of in-person meeting, not having your phone ring is an important concept. With Outlook integration, having a unified 'BUSY' presence with the option to have an automatic DND is actually not an unreasonable ask. Please flag this idea as still unresolved, or unmerge the other related suggestions.
All of this support and the RC team still hasn't gotten to this? C'mon now.
If using the Ring Central and MS Teams integration, there should be a way for the statuses to match without having to change both of them to DND for example.
Seems like an easy fix, there should be an option that "Busy" also mean "DND" that way if you have something on your calendar (meeting, in the office or an appointment outside the office) your extension will not ring.
While you are at it, It would be extremely helpful if the Microsoft Status and the RingCentral status could match all of the time. Not just when in a scheduled meeting, but impromptu Teams calls too. I'm on a RingCentral call and someone calls me on Microsoft Teams and vice versa.

Yes, yes, yes! I was just in a zoom meeting and 3 calls came in in 5 minutes. I never actively thought about how there's no Auto-DND but this needs to be a feature!
I love that RingCentral claims it's an intended feature to receive phone calls during meetings, but I don't understand why those rings need to be at full volume while you have earphones in. This app has always been such a mess.

Not just a RC meeting, but it should also query if Outlook status is in a meeting/do not disturb/busy, the RC status for that user should switch to do not disturb.
Agreed this is absolutely necessary. I have users that are manually dialing into Meeting using the phone app so that their phone doesn't ring while they are in a meeting, but this should be a simple fix to add a toggle to allow this functionality to be enabled or disabled depending on the users preference. Not sure who's bright idea it was to just change it, but Please give us a toggle or change this back.
This is by far the most frustrating thing about RingCentral. The call waiting feature or mute notifications while on the call should be the top priority for your service. It is infuriating that my reps are getting a call ringing in their ears while speaking to anyone including our clients that can hear this. Very unprofessional. If this is not fixed soon we will have to find a new solution.
I'm a brand new user as of May 2021 and on hold with tech support about this issue. I have been on hold for 48 mins now. Fix this issue, if I see another RC person say this is not a bug I will have to log tickets till the queue blows up. Please fix thisl
This is super frustrating. Problem with manually setting to DND is having to remember to turn if off after, which is often forgotten after a meeting, causing a user to miss all calls. +1 for this feature to be prioritized. RC allows a user's status to change automatically to "In a meeting" but that unfortunately still lets calls through which interrupt the meeting.
According to this community post https://community.ringcentral.com/questions/90562/ignore-calls-during-meeting.html, RC used to do this. I don't know why this feature would be removed. We just migrated to RC and using Softphone as primary instead of Deskphones. Having your computer ring while on a meeting is extremely distracting. Can't vote this idea up enough.
