When an org depends on Glip conversations to handle all sorts of matters throughout the day, it's easy to loose a thread in the current schema.
Add support for threaded conversations, please. This will be understandably difficult given the variety of platforms you're supporting. I'm not sure what it will even look like. Perhaps you could simply have two places in each conversation to write: replying to a prior comment or starting a new comment. Whenever someone replies to an older comment, that whole thread becomes the latest message, maybe simply appearing as two comments, first and last, connected by ellipses. Click on this and you actually open a sub-version of the current room. So if you started in the "Marketing" room and click on the sub-thread, you enter a new room called "Marketing - Don Knotts 3/4/18 3:34" unless Don renames his thread.
Good luck with this one and its design. Really hopeful you'll do something for threaded conversation support in 2018.
Product Line | RingCentral App |
This is in development! Beta planned to be available July 2023, with GA coming in Q4.
Bummer... after years of waiting, we cancelled our RingCentral service last month.
Even when ENTCOM-I-54 seems to have been created in July 2020, the text and comments in here suggest that
this user request is lingering around since 2018.
some comparable feature existed in the "classic" GUI until May 2021, but was dumped while switching to the new GUI.
=> It is very disappointing to me that RC seems not listen closely to its power users and their most crucial needs.
This is one of the very simple but effective elements of the Circuit Platform that I miss as a users. as other have mentioned, It can be very hard to keep track of specific conversations you have in either individual or group conversations without this and the option we had in Circuit to fold all Topics down to the Topic Heading to find the relevant topic was also very useful.
Sorry but I remember my first SW with conversations and discussions ca. 20 years ago and this function was possible...
We have multiple simultaneous conversations in our groups. Thease are almost impossible to track and require reposting to keep things fresh.
Threaded conversations or ticket/topic based conversations would actually make this be like being in an office.
Please create this.
this is a basic feature. come on ringcentral add this. it is frustating to ours users to have to scroll to read all comments and sometimes comments are missed because of this.
Any update on this?
We were told this would be implemented in Q1 2021. It's been more than a year and still nothing...
This is one of the most basic features in modern messaging apps. RC is really lagging in this regard and the messaging function is not very useful compared to the competition.
It’s frustrating that I can quote to reply to a message, but can’t quote/reply to a Post created via the API
I know this is now "planned." Any updates on when this will be worked on? Lack of threads makes it impossible to have multiple conversations going at once.
I just start using RingCentral and RingCentral missing this feature is really annoying as it makes the message unusable as soon as the number of replies increased or the number of topics opened increased in the Discussions. or Teams. It simply does not scale without this feature.
When do you plan to support this? As right now, I would recommend to my administration to look for a new tool.
New user ,
Was hoping to have conversation threads implemented . Like in SLACK..
Very easy to get lost in all the conversation posts.
Any timeframe on when this might be added?
Any update on this? Still eagerly anticipating...
Do you have a tentative date for delivering this feature?
Excited to see that this is "planned". Hopefully soon - it will make this service SO much more useful.
Maybe the way Slack implemented thread message can be a reference.
If this is not implemented before RC Classic is retired in May, it will break our organization's ability to use RC team messaging, and I suspect that is true for others that have requested this feature. Classic isn't perfect but the ability to have threaded conversations based on tasks is better than the new app, and if we lose that we'll have to find a new group messaging solution stat.
Nice
