How to do I save new contacts as "Company" contacts? Currently all new contacts I create are stored as "Personal" contacts. Is there a way to pick where a new contact gets stored?

We are becoming a new customer as of now and I cant believe this has to be a feature request. We have a lot of PSTN numbers out there we need to call and its much easier having it in one interface for people to search. Not sure why this hasn't been implemented but it really should be.
This should 100% be a feature! We really wish we could add external contacts to the global contact list. Think of departments or silos of the organization that could't or shouldn't use ring central but are part of the org. We should be able to globally add these contacts for users' convenience.
I found it a bit lazy on RingCentral's part that this isnt a feature. RingCentral please make this happen so we don't have to consider other VOIP Providers! ;) I'm sure others have this feature.
Still noone from RC has addressed this yet.
To get around this I ended up following this link and setting up free remote users and assigning their contact info into their profile. This has it's limitations, but works well for static numbers. Can be tricky to keep on top of if internal team changes are frequent.

I cannot believe that we don't have this feature in such a big RingCentral company. This is must feature to have. Option to add details to the main company directory so that it is universal and all users will know who is calling etc.
It looks like there are several variations of this idea here. Not all members of our company need a cell phone and an RC phone number. Adding the non-RingCentral users to the corporate directory makes sense.
I think this whole idea thing is a sham. I will bet this will never get implemented. It's simply here to make us customers feel like we have a voice. Notice after 3 years no word on this? Not even a comment from a mod or admin. I have been watching this thread for a while and no movement.
My company still waiting for this feature since 2020.
Could you please give us some visibility on it ?
This would be a very useful feature for agency users that do not have RingCentral but still have agency cellphones. Please address.

This is such a basic function. There are huge benefits to having a company wide directory that everyone can access/update and share within the company. This should be for both the phone app and the desktop.
This is such a simple concept, cannot believe I missed this in POC testing. I am already shopping other vendors for when our renewal comes up if this hasnt been addressed.
Have had this feature on 2 previous phone systems (Meridian & Avaya). Extremely useful for making contact info of external sales teams available to inside people.
Can't believe this feature is missing and RC has not included it in the function upgrade roadmap. This feature is especially useful for an entity with mutiple subsidiaries which each subsidiary owns an RC account (with own corporate directory), but the cummuincation/collaboration is still needed across the subsidiaries.
i want this to get around the CNAM update process. Caller ID is not reliable. Not sure how RC get's theirs...
My Custom Success Manager told me this feature is going to come in Q1/2022 but had to be delayed.
Any update on this?
