Use a "Currently on another Call" greeting message while on another call or have the capability to disable Call waiting. An options that say, while i'm on another call us this greeting, or while i'm on a call go straight to voicemail.

Update: This has been pushed to Q3 2023. Most likely September.
Planned solution is to allow each user to turn call waiting on/off. When off, calls will be routed to voicemail.
Additional enhancements of selecting options on what to do with the call after call waiting is turned off is TBD after Q3 2023.

This seems a really standard feature which is not present in RingCentral. This needs to be added ASAP.
Is it just me, or does anyone else think that RingCentral is underrepresented in this community portal? I hardly ever see RingCentral Administrators responding to our comments. Not sure if they are idling and not bothered in replying our comments or they are too busy to visit this site?
We have a large number of customers who are waiting for this standard feature.
It will be good to have this call waiting toggle ASAP.
I had the ability to disable call waiting in Ooma for FIVE YEARS before switching to RingCentral. Meanwhile different RC techs are giving me different answers about this question. One told me to contact Polycom to ask how to turn off call waiting in the ATA. Which makes little sense because the ATA is locked down by RC.
This feature doesn't go far enough. I want the option to "drop caller"aka busy signal so I don't pay a dime for the toll-free minutes used for the caller or callers (as in my case a radio call in show) going to voicemail. I created a new idea for this, as RingCentral has seemed to not allow users or admins to disabled calling features that landlines have had for 40-120 years!!!
Can't wait! It's so hard to carry on a conversation with the phone ringing in your ear

Is there any more detail on an actual release date for this ?
Possible to just have this switched off completely rather than the 3 options? I.e. an engaged tone is presented or the "Sorry the person is unavailable to take your call" message?
If what Jessica has said below is that the user can make either of these three options a default option, i.e. I do not have to make that selection every time and can set send to voicemail as my default, then it will be a much overdue improvement

i. Send to Voicemail
ii. Send to Extension/company contact(similar to voicemail CH)

This is a very basic feature available on virtually all telephone systems and is required, especially when dealing with critical calls and getting another call on top. When will this get fixed ringCentral?
Yes it would be nice to be able to manage calls based on an "internal" or "external" basis and condition of RNA, BSY, DND.
We are fairly new to RingCentral and find this odd that call handling options when you are on the phone aren't standard. Our previous phone system allowed for redirecting calls to voicemail, another extension or letting the caller hold. It was also broken down by internal/external, extension/DID along with the statuss of the phone - active call/DND.
How many votes are needed to get this fixed? This has been requested for almost 2 years. 2 calls ringing into a customer service rep at the same time is not acceptable in our business.
Should be available for both Hardphones and Desktop apps.
