Forwarding voicemails from the desktop app and various pluggins would be very helpful. Right now, if an admin gets a voicemail and needs to forward it, they have to log into the website to do it. The apps are great and really leave no reason to ever visit the website so it creates workflow friction when you have to go there for one offs like this. The other option would be to download the file and then forward it. Not ideal as it is several extra steps and switching between at least three apps to do so.

I see that this idea is planned for "later in 2023". I was curious as to the status and maybe if there is a planned timeframe for '23.
In addition to being able to forward a voicemail from the app or desktop should be the ability to send a note with it - so you can "assign" it to someone or leave some extra info about it.

While I think voicemial to email is the alternative, users want a central place to manage voicemail. Simply allow users to forward voicemails (even if via e-mail) directly from the app. Even if this opened an e-mail in outlook, this could be a great alternative. Going our to service.ringcentral.com is messy.
Wow, just ran into this, went live on Friday and can't forward voicemails from General to HR. Didn't even think this was a question that needed to be asked about because EVERY VOIP system I have ever seen can forward a voicemail. Even logging into the website to do the forward you have to send it to an email that can't be looked up the directory. Please RC get this feature added to the apps.
Just became a RC MVP client on 7/13/2022. We definitely need this! Transferring voicemails I thought would have been something standard under the desktop app.
I think overall, you need to be able to forward a voicemail from your app and/or the web/admin portal to another extension number/mailbox. In our environment we don't always have audio connected to a computer, but we have a desk phone. Most any system allows you to forward to another desk phone, and while we can do that from desk phones (I guess I need to confirm that!?!) it is very practical in our workflow to need to be able to listen to a message then formward it to another extension's desk phone (that may be shared by many staff)
It makes no sense for RC to route EVERYTHING through the app but NOT have the ability to forward a VM via/through the app!
This is a no-brainer. Why do we have to vote on something so fundamental which should have been in place from the beginning? Your average worker is not going to understand how to download an audio file, look in the downloads file, and attach the file to an Email. (No one I have asked to do this--to send me the audio file because the transcription makes no sense--knows what I'm talking about or how to do it, so I just end of not getting the message.)
This is basic functionality. Please implement asap.
Group voicemails should also be available to view via the app (whoever is a member of that group) and the ability to manage those voicemails there. Would love for both of these features to be available soon. Seems a bit clunky to have to visit different avenues to just forward a voicemail.
I often get a voicemail that really should be for our customer support team or billing team, etc. I end up copying the transcription into an email and cleaning it up. There ought to be a 'forward to extension' option that doesn't require emailing people audio files.
This would be helpful- in addition, some way to assign to a team member with notes. There is also no way for all team members to access group voicemails. We will get an email notification or text, but then you can't listen from your app. Agree that downloading a voice attachment is cumbersome.
Please push this out sooner then later it would make it easier to forward voicemails from the mobile app and the softphone so users don't have to do it from their desk phones.
It seems like this would be an easy fix. If I push option 5 while listening to a voicemail on my phone, I can forward the voicemail to another extension. Why not just add another feature under "more" on the desktop app?
This is critical to our business as well; I cannot keep switching to the mobile phone app just to do this one function repeatedly instead of staying within the desktop app. Please resolve ASAP. thank you
As a new customer, I'm very excited with the system, but the inability to forward a voicemail to a co-worker from the softphone feels like an easy add and big win, for all! Hope we see this feature added very soon. thanks.
Voicemail to email is wonderful...at hogging up server space and backups. We've do not allow in our firm. Forwarding emails on a one-off basis would seem a no brainer in the world of ease and convenience. The app has tons of bells and whistles and this should have been one from the get go, but definitely after July 29th 2020 when this post was generated as a request on a clear oversight. You don't need 153 votes (currently) to know that, or maybe you do. Let's get on this guys and gals.
direct forwarding of voicemails to another coworker as a voicemail instead of via email with an mp4 file attached would be great
