RingCentral Room Default Participant View
Whenever participants use the screenshare tool within the RingCentral Room Video meeting, the default video view is speaker and the we'd prefer to have the view go back to the gallery view since the meeting is leveraging a RC Room, which(to us) represents a larger meeting and in-person participants want to see all video participants on one screen/TV.
Essentially, we'd like to have the option to set the "default" participant view when using the RC Rooms product, as most of our RC Room meetings are typically hybrid and larger quantities of participants.1 voteAn IT admin can set a default participant layout for a room, applied on the latest RingCentral Rooms client. A customer-facing article for this setting is in progress. -
Allow Rooms device to connect to other providers meetings
Rooms appliance only allows connection to RingCentral meetings. This is a major inconvenience in the event that we need to join a video meeting from a different provider such as Teams, Webex, or ZOOM.
Please find a way to allow Rooms appliance to connect to other meetings and not just Call in.
4 votesAs of August 2024, Rooms can now join Teams meetings using SIP Guest Join, if the SIP join details are not provided in the meeting invitation.

Set-up an iPad as scheduling display for RingCentral Video Rooms
RingCentral Video Rooms should allow you to use an iPad as a Controller and another one as Scheduling Display. The iPad for Scheduling Display can be placed on a wall outside the conference room, which will let the attendees view the room's schedule and availability, as well as reserve the room.

Notify when RingCentral Meetings Rooms Calendar disconnects
When a Calendar service becomes unauthorized, for example when an OAuth2.0 token expires, administrators are not notified. If admins were able to be notified via email, this would allow them to proactively reauthorize the calendar service. This would help avoid a situation where users enter a room expecting to be able to join meetings from a calendar.

Add Airplay for RingCentral Video Rooms
The old RC meetings rooms had great airplay compatibility. Our employees use it daily in our conference rooms. We are unable to roll out the new RC Video Rooms since airplay is NOT an option yet. PLEASE add it for the next release. Thanks
5 votesGuests can wirelessly share content and audio from an Apple device — iPhone, iPad, or Mac — to an Android or Windows Room using AirPlay, both in and outside of a meeting, by entering a short pairing code. Available in RingCentral Rooms. One thing to note: AirPlay relies on the Room and the Apple device discovering each other on the same network, so it depends on the room's network setup. See Screen sharing with AirPlay in RingCentral Rooms. -
Simplify invite participants on RC Rooms controller and scheduling display
It would be really helpful if there could be somewhere where you could add a list of frequently used participants or contacts that you could choose from or that would auto populate when you started typing their name to add them to a RC meeting from the controller or scheduling display. It's really time consuming to type in each person's email address
1 voteModerators are able to add additional participants using their Company Directory, when beginning to type names, emails will populate from search terms.

Make RingCentral Meetings Rooms compatible with all features of RingCentral Meetings or RingCentral Video
Anyone who uses RingCentral Meetings Rooms would benefit from being able to join breakout rooms and use the other features of RingCentral Meetings.

Configure outbound dialing from Rooms
We have multiple Polycom Studio X50 video conferencing units, and they work great with users that are on RingCentral, but if we're invited to a vendor call, there's no way for us to dial in to WebEx or Zoom meetings. The baseline Polycom firmware has the capacity to act as a SIP subscriber, so I don't know why this function isn't available in the RC App on the controller.
