New Account Set Up. When setting up a new account the criteria for choosing a PIN are not shown statically before you create the PIN. The criteria are shown only as a dynamic indicator below the field where you must create and enter a new PIN. Many sites that ask the user to create new "PINs" require alpha-numerical formats (technically passwords/passkeys) but there is no way to know that the required PIN is numerical only- until you start typing a number first. If a letter is entered first (or second)- the criteria shown gives the impression (with a red circle error mark) that it cannot be "only numbers" causing confusion. The same would apply if you mistakenly enter recurring or sequential numbers which is not compliant with the requirements. Recommended solution is to show a static summary of the required criteria above the field where the user needs to enter a PIN. That way they know what is required before they start creating a PIN code. This issue caused us over an hour on the phone trying to figure out why the PIN would not be accepted and delayed a service (health care) to a client by two days until the issue was resolved and we figured out this frustratingly avoidable issue.
