Improve annotations so they don't automatically disappear
Also known as Persistent Annotations

I am trying to enable annotations so that when my employees share their screen with me I can annotate on what they are doing. I've looked up how to enable this in the admin console but the option isn't available under users or meetings. Please advise.

We use Ring Central to train remotely and when we had Ring Central Meetings, the annotation tools were extremely helpful for participant learning and engagement and now with Ring Central Video, there is only one choice for annotating on the screen and it is not helpful or engaging at all. Please add all the annotation tools that Meetings had to Video.

Request is for improvements to annotations: both for them not to automatically disappear and also for the ability to change the pen color.

I would like to enable my attendees to draw and type on the screen without granting them permission in settings ahead of time. Many times, they don't even have an account- they just sign in with meeting ID.

I am a Math / Writing tutor and need a "pencil"that can write numbers without changing to something else! (ie: When I draw a "3" it changes to a 7!!). 😣

I use RingCentral for online teaching and tutoring and it would be so helpful to provide more functions like text, drawing shapes, changing colors and allowing participants to also have the same access. As well as a spotlight feature and 'disappearing pen' where the annotation disappears after a few seconds but all other annotations remain.

Annotations are particularly useful when a guest is trying to help the presenter drive. For example:Bob is the presenter. Guest: "Hey Bob, can you show me that report"Bob: "Sure which one?"Guest: <Uses annotation> "This one"Bob: <Clicks on report>Zoom can do this. Ring central cannot. With Ring central, guests cannot annotate unless the presenter is in annotation mode. If the presenter is in annotation mode, they cannot click on anything. So the only "workaround" here is for Bob to quickly change to annotation mode, let the guest circle, and then turn off annotation mode. Instead I'd propose "sharing rules" where "guest annotation" is always allowed or disallowed. However, the presenter would still need to manually turn on annotations just like how it is today but ONLY for themselves (are you annotating or clicking on your screen?)My team uses this all the time and it's a major change from us using zoom.

I have been using GoTo Meeting for many years now. My company has transitioned to RC. GoTo gave the host controls like arrow, highlighter, spot light, etc. This was especially helpful to point certain things out during a meeting so the attention is shifted to a certain product, picture, etc. This really is a huge downside for many of us who were forced to leave GoTo.

In RingCentral Meetings, anyone can draw on the screen at any time. That is great when I am meeting with a colleague - she is showing her screen, and I want to direct focus to something in particular, or explain a concept with a sketch. And then I can erase it when we are done. In RC Video, no one can draw unless the host is also in drawing mode. So then I have to ask to be able to draw, s/he has to find where to enable it, and then s/he can no longer navigate around because she is in drawing mode. Please change it to match the functionality that Zoom has already optimized.

One of the annotation feature that we use in the old RC Meeting is allowing the audience to start the annotation at their own. Currently with the new RC meeting, the host has to activate the annotation. We often share our screen and explain to them, thus it would be great idea if the audience can annotate right away without the host to activate it.

This is a useless product without the annotation features you used to have. If you can't return them, I will abandon the product, and go to Zoom, which does have them, It is CRITICAL to the success of my meetings to have the markup feature.

Dear RC, your previous version of annotation in which user can draw boxes, shaded boxes, arrows, lines, text, etc on the shared screen is critical for idea and sharing meetings. May be I don't know where these features have gone to? Kindly bring them back, please? right now, I have to (hopefully temporarily) switch to use Zoom because without the ability to annotated "richly" on shared screens, at least for me I cannot use RC for group design discussions. Thank You for hearing me out.Respectfully yours,

Include tool for screenshots (on/off depending on Organizer content) to quickly create notes.

The tiles says it all. Live on-screen annotation capability is one of the features that was available in RCM and is now missing from RCV (along with Remote Control capability). Please add this to the development list as it is something our users use often and may rapidly become a deal breaker for us and force the consideration of platform alternatives to RingCentral. Thank you!

The annotation tools in RingCentral Video need to be at least as comprehensive as those found in RingCentral Meetings. The pen tool is insufficient for our requirements and is a barrier to us transitioning from RC Meetings to RC Video.

I'm hoping that eventually there will be more annotation options, like eraser, color, straight lines, rectangles, circles. These are very helpful for sketching out engineering concepts for meetings with coworkers and clients.
