A guest user is not able to join a RingCentral Video Meeting from the RingCentral desktop app using a personal meeting name when clicking "Join A Meeting"--they receive an "Invalid Meeting ID" message. The meeting name can be used to join a RingCentral Video Meeting in a web browser, or if the user has a RingCentral account and is signed into the RingCentral Desktop App.

We largely use RingCentral Video Meetings for Remote Control of customer screens, which requires using the RingCentral desktop app on the customer system. Allowing customers to join using a personal meeting name in the RingCentral desktop app would bring an improved user experience, and parallel joining experience from the web to the desktop app. Today, the customer has to join using the Personal Meeting ID when clicking "Join a meeting" in the desktop app.
