  1. Since we can't currently display the company main number when texting out - defaults to operator number - it would be great to have the company name, instead of the phone number, display when we text out to clients.

  2. We are sending texts to our clients all the time. To personalize this, we sometimes like to instead send them a little video in which we thank them in person, introduce the company, etc etc, different themes in different videos. With just 1.5 MB limit per video in SMS, this is impossible. It would be an absolute awesome addition to our client approach and make us stand out to competition as well.

  3. When I am texting with someone, often times, the icon that appears around the initials of their name is the EXACT same color of the icon that appears around my initials. This often leads to me missing texts since it looks like I was the last person to respond. There NEEDS to be a way to differentiate the numbers in the chat. Bare minimum, drastically different colored icons per number included in the chat, different shapes would be even better!

  4. General messages come to my assistant's phone and I need to be able to access them. I can access her voicemail messages using my assistant's voicemail PIN, but would like a way to access my assistant's text messages too, possibly through delegation feature, or any other way that would make this possible. Would like to be able to access them in the RingCentral Desktop App.

One is able to mark texts unread in order to flag them for future reference when using the RingCentral app, however, when using the desktop application, this is not possible. sometimes if there is a response from the patient/client and the application happens to be open to that text thread, it is marked as read when it hasn’t been noticed before the user clicks away onto another section of the desktop application and is therefore missed.   10. I use RC as my primary phone service. In many cases organizations send SMS messages from "short code" numbers. I can receive them on RC. But I can not respond. This is an important feature!

  11. Im a small business owner and looking to have one central location or hub that is shared between multiple users (extensions). For example: Phone calls, SMS, Voicemail, and missed calls can be viewed and responded by all users under one umbrella. Currently and specifically SMS & Voicemails go to one specific extension (say extension 101, but ex 102 should also have access to those SMS and Voicemails) and only that extension has access to it, which clogs the system of communication. As a refuse hauler dealing with a couple thousand customers, it would be beneficial to be able to upload a CSV file of our clients on routes to send a text message from RingCentral that all would receive at the same time. Alerts reguarding Holiday pickup schedule, route changes, and past due bill.

  15. We switched a couple of our office locations to BYOC licensing and lost the ability to SMS Text. The SMS Text option should be added to the standard BYOC product license. It is a vey handy feature and our staff love it for communicating with our customers. It allow them to give one number to customers for all communications.

  16. When an SMS message fails to send there is a small red redo/resend arrow next to it. It however does nothing but in the "desktop phone" app this resend button works to resend the message.

  18. In the current state Call Delegates are not able to access/respond to SMS messages. The solution from technical support was that the user should share their RC login with their delegate. This is an obviously unacceptable solution and also not possible in our case where SSO is implemented. It is incoherent to encourage sign-on security and immediately undercut that so that a delegate can support another user account.

  19. RingCentral Phone can automatically reduce file size of a picture and send SMS/MMS.RingCentral Desktop app does not have this funtion. Please add this feature, it is very convenient. We are forced to switch to RingCentral Desktop application due to RC Phone Window App unreliability.

I think it would be helpful to have the SMS on the desktop app act like the mobile app where the texts from yourself are on the right side and texts from the other person on the left. also having different colors to differentiate your texts or the other person's texts. This makes it easier to read and find messages from yourself or the other person.
