  1. SMS messaging from a generic 5-digit number - For survey purposes

    Currently, we use an API integration that simply sends a site-specific customer satisfaction survey that is sent 7 days after their order was fulfilled. This is a trigger that is automatically activated, the sms message is sent and seems to be in working order. However, the number that is defined as the outgoing phone number belongs to the user extension of our Administrator (1002) which is (617) 674-1243. Due to the scope of our business, we would like a non-area code-specific number (since we support multiple states). If possible, we would like to have this sent from a ##### number…

    This is possible using Enhanced Business SMS using the Shared Inbox feature. You might also look to Workflow Builder to help - as automations can be used to send SMS from other phone numbers (it requires some reading of the documentation though).

  2. Get pickup members of a call queue via API

    If you attempt to de-queue a call off of a call queue, and the person doing so is not a pickup member of the queue, then the platform will return a 403 error (which is by design). However, this is an error state easily avoided if developers has a way to determine whether someone is a pickup member of a queue. Therefore, we need an API we could query for this information.

  3. Auto Replies, Scheduled text messages and Templates

    We have been paying another company ZipWhip to handle texts for us because RingCentral doesn't do Auto Replies (vacation, message received will reply soon etc). We also use scheduled reminder texts and Ring doesn't do that either. Lastly, templates. I don't see a place to save templates to reply with. It sure would be nice if we didn't have to pay two companies instead of one to handle texting and voice calls since we only get a couple of calls a day, but probably 30 text messages.     Since this idea was posted, I believe we have implemented much of what is being asked for:

    • Workflow Builder can help with SMS auto-replies
    • Workflow Builder will soon support scheduled workflows
    • SMS templates have been shipped and are now available

    We can not recieve any SMS messages from the bank or my Amazon verification code.Please add the service to your amazing app.

    I do not want to use password auth. I want to issue an "API Key" to an app instead.
