Currently, RingCentral only supports sending SMS via a Contact-based workflow. I think sending SMS via Deal-based workflows or other objects (Appointments, Projects, etc) is equally as important. Few use cases:

1. Pipeline Stage Triggers - We'd like to be able to send an SMS message to our customers after an appointment is resulted. This would be straightforward from a deal-based workflow. Deal stage changes and fire an automated SMS.

Currently, we would have to create a custom property to sync the deal stage to the contact record then fire automations at the contact level there.

1. Personalized Sales SMS - Similarly our sales reps are asking for the ability to send personalized messages before/after the appointment. Think, appointment reminders or feedback survey links. We would trigger this using deal properties normally but in current state, again, that would require syncing properties back to the contact level.

In addition, property syncing could get finnicky and cause misfires in situations where a Contact may have several associated deals. We would have to sync the Deal Owner property to the Contact as well in order to send the SMS via a customer's sales rep.

Having deal-based workflows would significantly simplify this process (making it more manageable) while reducing property bloat at the Contact level.
