    We have several public/published Fax numbers assigned to Message Only Extensions that are used for shared fax incoming delivery. We have had most user's Fax Caller ID set to their shared Fax Number (was their branches physical fax machine number before we converted to RingCentral). These shared fax numbers deliver to shared email boxes on our Exchange server. Sometime around January 2024, all the users suddenly have our default Account Number as their Fax Caller ID and outbound faxing fails since that is not a valid number. The Message Only Extensions for our fax numbers no longer appear in the drop down for users to select to set as their caller ID. We had to set all the users Fax Caller ID to their direct number in order for them to send faxes. This is not ideal as response faxes from our members could end up in an individual's RingCentral fax folder or email rather than a shared mailbox that multiple staff have access to. This has resulted in lost and delayed responses to our members needs. We opened a case with support. The were able to make the shared Fax numbers available for us to assign to users as Fax Caller ID, however when sending a fax all the numbers shown on the fax header and cover letter were still the user's direct number. We were told "This is a normal behavior wherein the outbound fax number will only be shown to the receiving end of the fax. Internally, the assigned direct no. of the users will be shown from the logs and reports and not the outbound caller id." Not sure I agree with that as test faxes to an external fax still show the user's direct number, not the fax number listed as their Fax Caller ID. The technician advised to vote on this feature in the ideas section.
