Unified status in Presence sync between MS Teams Embedded App and RC App
The EA is a telephony-focused app that uses our platform presence status. However, the RingCentral App has another messaging focused status that is also being used. This extra status used in RingCentral app causes the 2 HUD displays to show different results.

The usage of this presence status in different apps may vary.
It would be great if the status in RingCentral and MS Teams Embedded App is synced or unified which is the main purpose of the Presence sync feature.

This is critical for our org! Our team serves 15 counties in the state and are very often out in the field, making it difficult to track people down when we can't see consistent presence information. The importance of this goes well beyond convenience to the point of the actual physical safety of our staff!! We need to be able to see the extra custom messaging, where we would give our actual location and what time we expect to return.
We were under the impression when we demoed the system that this function was available and it was one of the big selling points. At the very least, this difference should be explained when demoing the system to prospective clients.

I agree. The Desktop app uses Unified Presence and the MS Teams Embedded app uses Platform (call availability) presence. As more of our users are using the RingCentral Desktop app due to the time it takes for RC to display in teams, this is becoming a bigger issue. To successfully design and communicate to our staff a MS Teams and RingCentral Co-existence ecosystem, the integration and consistency in presence is essential. These nuances are causing frustration to our heavy users and staff are questioning the benefit in moving to RingCentral for telephony when they didn't have this issue on MS Teams Calling.

Related to this, when enabling Messaging, the Busy status goes away and the Set Status message is used. This is unfortunate, since Busy is used so much in the presence syncing across platforms.

Additional request: In Teams meeting you have to manually stick your phone into Busy, via the BT Cloud Work app.
So even though the embedded presence changes, the system will still allow the phone to ring.

Yes, we would very much like to see the status message synced between Teams and Ring Central. Thanks!

Being able to place a status message on the current status would be ideal for others to see.

For our team this has been a big pain point. The status "as designed" is not consistent in the EA HUD either. You are just as likely to be "Offline" as "Busy" and the EA Hub will also (sometimes) give other updated information. Like I can see someone in an active call. Occasionally, it shows "in a meeting". As another point WHY would you ever want "Away" to map as "Offline"? Since Teams tags you as "Away" if you have not been working on the computer it means I might not answer, where "Offline" means I probably won't be able to answer. Since many of our groups have actual physical desk phones. I am actually NOT off-line even if my computer is down.

I agree. Why would they not fully integrate the presence sync with teams? Seems a little useless to even have this feature if you get marked as "away" on teams and then RingCentral marks you as available. If you didn't log out of the call queue before teams goes to "away" then it will put you back in. This seems to only be an issue for our users in call queues. For everyone else, it works great.

Sync Teams Away Status with RC HUD, rather that showing user as offline in the RC HUD, when they are actually just away in Teams
