Add Remote Control feature to RC Desktop App - Video
It appears this was a feature in the Meetings App, but is not available in the current version of the Desktop App and our account does not allow us to run Meetings. This is helpful when staff are in a video meeting and they want to hand off control to another presenter or tech support person.
194 votesThanks for this suggestion. Remote control during screen sharing is available today, but only when both the person sharing and the person requesting control are on the RingCentral desktop app. This is because the desktop app has deeper access to your device that a browser simply isn't allowed to have for security reasons — browsers intentionally limit what a website can do with your screen, keyboard, and mouse to protect users.
Bringing remote control to the browser would require the desktop app to be updated to work with those browser limitations, which is a significant undertaking relative to how this feature is used today. After evaluating it, we've decided this isn't something we'll be building, and we're closing this request.
If remote control is something you rely on, we'd recommend joining meetings from the RingCentral desktop app rather than the browser.See Requesting and approving remote desktop control.

Share host Audio in RC Video in Desktop App
RingCentral Meetings and Zoom support sharing Host audio to a presentation. From our testing yesterday this is possible IF the RC Video session is started from the web app, but not if started from the all-in-one desktop app. Why:It is often useful for a host to share not just an image, but sound as well, in a meeting or presentation.
189 votesAnyone presenting — not just the host — can include system audio so participants hear shared video and audio clearly. This is supported when presenting from the desktop app on both Windows and macOS, with macOS support our most recent addition. See Sharing your screen with audio. -

Invite company team member to an active video call or screen share
From the invite participants button, there should be an option to send a direct message to a company team member, and/or the ability to call their extension. Currently, the option to call by phone does access my contact list or allow me to enter a fellow team members extension. If I use the desktop app to call them, or they call me, there has to be an easy way to merge or move that call to an existing meeting.Case example. I am hosting a screen share (or video meeting) with someone. I want to invite a colleague to this meeting.…
178 votesA meeting host can invite a teammate into a live meeting by searching their name, using Smart Invite. This is available in the RingCentral app on mobile, and coming soon to desktop and browser in July 2026. -
Virtual backgrounds
I would love to have virtual backgrounds in RingCentral Video so I don't have to show the background of my home office.
165 votesMeeting participants can choose from 25 premium virtual backgrounds across five themes — Minimal, Modern Office, Nature, Cozy, and Futuristic — in the RingCentral app on desktop and mobile. A customer-facing article for the refreshed set is in progress. -
Share video cloud recording with external parties
We would like to share links to cloud meeting recordings as we need to share this information with clients for trainings, for example. We would like to be able to share these meeting recordings without having to download the file and send the recording to the client/customer.
130 votesA meeting host can share a cloud recording with both internal recipients and people outside their organization, using Share Meeting Materials. Available today in video meetings on the desktop app and on the Web (Browser). See Viewing and managing meeting recordings. -
Feature to rename participants in RCV
Feature to rename participants in RCV
126 votesA meeting host can rename guests and PSTN dial-in participants, both in the waiting room and during the meeting, across the RingCentral app on desktop and mobile and on the browser. One thing to note: signed-in participants can't be renamed, since their display name comes from the company directory. See Editing participant names in a meeting. -

Improve annotations so they don't automatically disappear
Also known as Persistent Annotations
119 votesPresenters can keep their annotations on screen until they choose to clear them, rather than having them fade automatically. Available in video meetings on the desktop app and on the browser. See Using annotations in a meeting. -
Non-verbal reactions in meetings
Add reaction emojis during a video conference - thumbs up, thumbs, down, clap, etc.

RCV Reactions
It would be great if RCV participants were able to send reactions/emojis to others and if presenters could get a summary view of those reactions.

Bring back the pause screen share feature
The ability to pause your screen share is extremely helpful. For instance, while your client is asking a question, you pause the share to locate the information in order to answer their question. This was something you were always able to do using RingCentral Meetings, but has been discontinued under RingCentral Video. This feature also sets you apart from most other web conference platforms.
63 votesA presenter can pause and resume screen sharing whenever they need to. This is available in video meetings on the desktop app.. See Using screen sharing in the new RingCentral Video meetings experience. -
Ring Central Video is too Resource Intensive
The reason for this request is that it seems unrealistic to have to close all other programs in order to have a RC video call work. One of the video attendees said if they attend a Zoom meeting, it is fine. I’m sure the issue is related to computer resources, but I am surprised there would be such a large difference between zoom and RC. We need to have Ring Central Video function like Zoon and not be so resource intensive.
54 votesCustomers see meaningfully lower CPU and memory usage in video meetings on the RingCentral desktop app (using new desktop meetings experience), which replaced the Legacy meetings
Additionally, for customers on older computers, we’ll be introducing a performance optimization mode in July 2026 to help provide a smoother experience. More details will follow soon.

Enable Setup of Shared Screen in one monitor and the Gallery to another
Our customer believe that its beneficial to have the feature to allow Shared Screen in one monitor and the Gallery to another to show the full page of the list of participants

Automatic Recording on RCV
There is currently no option to automatically record a meeting for Ringcentral Video unlike its latter, Ringcentral Meetings.
48 votesAn IT admin can set meetings to start recording automatically whenever a host or moderator joins.End users can also do the same via Settings>Meetings in service.ringcentral.com. This has been available for several years and is configured in the Admin Portal under company meeting settings. See Configuring company meeting settings. -

Allow Transcription of Meeting
Would like to request RC Meeting ability to transcribe a meeting into text. Since voicemails can transcribe into text, it seems as though RC has the technology to do so. This would be very handy for recorded meetings where we want to keep detailed notes and be able to scan to the relevant information.
45 votesMeeting transcription is available today as part of the all new Ringcentral Meeting experience, generated automatically when recording is enabled. An admin can enable it in company meeting settings. See Configuring company meeting settings.
