We use the MSI non-auto-update installer extensively in our VDI environment as having the application install into users local appdata folders each at each login is resource and storage intensive.
Please give us this functionality back!

This functionality used to work as expected. A recent update has caused this to only work with some RingCentral direct numbers. Opened support case and they stated that they were unable to resolve the issue and to open a feature request to have it worked on instead.
