Provide an admin setting in the RingCentral portal to customize inbound fax attachment filenames, specifically allowing users to toggle off or remove the leading + symbol from incoming fax PDF attachments received via email notifications.
Use Case / Pain Point:
RingCentral currently uses the standardized E.164 phone number format (e.g., +11234567890.pdf) when generating PDF attachments for fax email notifications.
Many downstream line-of-business applications, document management systems, and local script automations struggle to process or ingest filenames containing special characters like +. Users currently have to manually rename files or build third-party automations (e.g., Power Automate) just to strip the symbol before processing.
Proposed Solution:
Add a toggle under Admin Portal > Notification Settings > Fax Notifications (or Service Web) such as:
[ ] Include leading '+' in fax attachment filenames
Or allow a customizable attachment naming template (e.g., {SenderNumber}_{Date}.pdf).
