  1. We currently cannot quickly text a customer while we are on the phone with that customer while using the desktop program on computer (not the extension). We have to take multiple steps such as: Go to text and create a new text, search their contact, etc. A simple and easy solution to this would be one of 2 options below:Show the Ongoing Call in the calls area, while we are on the call (currently the call only shows after we end the call).   2. In the prior version of ring central this feature was very instrumental in our job for logging purposes to have the time stamp visible at all times. After the new update, we've lost that feature. Requesting to have said feature reinstated.

  3. It's important to see the number where the customer sent the text from. To know which assigned number it came from and to track the customer's information. Please put back the feature on the RC Desktop App and Mobile App. Screenshot was taken 03/26/2024 at that time we can see from what number we were texting from.

We would like for RingCentral to disable the ability for users to be able to post GIFs in text messages on the RC mobile app. It doesn't appear that the GIF function is built into the app (rather, it's a keyboard shortcut option on one's smart phone) but this opens up the possibility for users to send inappropriate images (internally or externally).

  7. We encounter a problem where our main extension isn't following the correct call forwarding that was set up on the user extension. Tech rep fixed the issue by recreating the extension itself. The issue is when the newly created extension doesn't have the SMS content that we originally had on the corrupted extension and I found out that there's no way to transfer the SMS from one corrupted extension to the new recreated one other than manually forwarding it.   8. Date and time stamp should be included in all text messages being sent within the RingCentral desktop app. At times, this is used in conjunction with our Accounting team to receive confirmation from users to approve certain matters. Having the text message only read 'today' does not help to validate when the communication actually took place (date and time). The only time date and time is included together is when it's a past date.

  11. Allow ability to hide old conversations via text or archive them. Google voice has this feature.

    First I hide the messages so I can reply to more pressing issues and free up space but also organize our texts, for example I might have a conversation I cannot reply at this second but I read it, however once more texts start coming in from other customers it gets hidden.

    We need ability to hide but not delete the texts so when they are hidden, then they text again, it appears back on screen and all the old messages are still there…

  12. A feature on the Messaging App, enabling one to message SMS to a contacts email. This way one could literally communicate with a contact through any medium: call, video call, fax, text/SMS, and possibly text/SMS to email.

  17. We really need this feature so clients can text our "support team, customer service team, etc." and allow several people on our company team be able to view & reply to these messages.

    Nextiva just rolled out with this feature last month (Feb. 2024). Let's see it already RingCentral, please! Don't let Nextiva outpace you on features. They've been rolling out really nice back to back features in the past 2 months.

  18. Currently we are only able to set 1 SMS recipient inside the Auto Receptionist's General Settings. This SMS recipient is used for both our company Main Number and for all IVR Menus. We'd like to have the possibility of assigning an SMS recipient that's different from the Main Number SMS recipent to our IVR Menus.

  19. I just deleted a user who was terminated from our organization today. However, we need to be able to check their text and message history as it has come to light that he may have been sending confidential information through there. I know there is no way for me to recover the information, but is there a way that you can pull messaging history from your database or to recover the user?
