Customizable Hold Alert Timing and Distinct Alert Tone for Held Calls
I’d like to request enhancements to the user experience related to held calls within the RingCentral system.
Currently, the hold alert (or Hold Recall) timing is set to a default of one minute, with no option to adjust it. I would strongly recommend implementing the ability for users (or administrators) to modify this interval in 30-second increments. This would allow users to better manage reminders based on their workflow and minimize the risk of overlooking calls placed on hold.
Additionally, it would be extremely beneficial to allow users to customize the alert tone for held calls—making it distinct from the default ringtone for incoming calls. At present, the identical tone can lead to unnecessary confusion and anxiety, as it mimics a new call rather than indicating a held call. In previous systems I’ve used—including Nortel and Avaya—this feature was standard and helped clearly differentiate between alert types.
Implementing these options would not only improve user experience but also align RingCentral's platform with legacy systems that many users are accustomed to.
