SMS Preview i Email Notification When HIPAA is Enabled
Current Behavior
When HIPAA is enabled, the preview of received SMS message content is not included in email notifications.
Enhancement Request
Provide an administrator-level option to enable or disable the SMS content preview in email notifications even when HIPAA is enabled.
Use Case
Depending on the customer’s specific use case, SMS messages may be used primarily for internal communication and may not contain sensitive patient or medical information. In these scenarios, customers may prefer to have the message content included in email notifications for convenience and faster visibility.
An optional setting would allow organizations to make this decision based on their own communication and compliance requirements, rather than having the SMS preview universally disabled whenever HIPAA is enabled.
Expected Behavior
When HIPAA is enabled, administrators should have an option to control whether the received SMS content is displayed as a preview in email notifications.
Enabled: Email notifications include a preview of the received SMS content.
Disabled: Email notifications continue to omit the SMS content, consistent with the current HIPAA behavior.
This would provide customers with greater flexibility while allowing organizations to determine the appropriate configuration based on their specific use case and compliance requirements.
