Email to Fax for Email Addresses Assigned to Multiple Extensions
Summary
This feature request addresses the issue where email to fax fails for email addresses assigned to multiple extensions. The current system is unable to identify the correct outbox for the email, causing the email to fax process to fail.
Current Issue
When an email address is assigned to multiple extensions, the email to fax feature does not function correctly. The system cannot determine which extension's outbox should process the fax, resulting in a failure of the email to fax operation. This limitation affects users who share a common email address for multiple extensions, leading to inefficiencies and frustration.
Proposed Solution
Email to Fax Routing Configuration:
Implement a configuration option in the RingCentral admin portal that allows administrators to specify how emails to fax should be routed when the email address is assigned to multiple extensions.
Provide an interface where administrators can assign priority or specific routing rules for the shared email address.
Outbox Selection Mechanism:
Develop a mechanism that allows the system to intelligently select the correct outbox based on predefined rules set by the administrator.
Allow options such as round-robin distribution, priority-based routing, or manual selection to determine which extension's outbox should handle the fax.
