Centralized User extension / Line
What I am looking for is a way to have a "Shared Extension". Basically a RingCentral Account that other people can login to with their specific credentials, sort of like a shared Mailbox in Outlook.
For example, let's say both Bob and Joe work at Admissions, and there is the phone "Admissions".
Bob could login to his own account (bob@company.com), and choose "Admissions 1" as the extension he is accessing. He then could see all of Admissions' Faxes, Texts, and Voicemail, and he could send texts, faxes and calls out over this extension as if he was directly logged into "Admissions ".
But then, when Bob clocks out for the day, Joe comes in, Joe can login to RingCentral with his own credentials (joe@company.com), and then choose "Admissions 1" as the extension he is accessing, and he would see all the same stuff that Bob could.
This would be better than a "HotDesk Phone", as Bob and Joe could both see the same voicemails, texts, and faxes for Admissions. If we were to use a HotDesk Phone, Bob and Joe's accounts would be seperate and if any Calls, Texts or Faxes came in while Bob was signed in, Joe would not be able to see that information, and vice-versa.
