Feature Request: Enhance Ring Settings – Prevent Calls from Going to Voicemail When One User Declines
Summary:
When using Ring Settings to route calls to multiple users, if one user declines the call, it automatically goes to voicemail instead of continuing to ring other assigned users. The customer requests that the behavior mirror that of Call Queues, where calls continue to ring other available members until answered or timeout occurs.Current Behavior:
In User Ring Settings, incoming calls can be set to ring multiple users simultaneously or sequentially.
However, if any one of the users declines the call, the system immediately sends the call to voicemail.
This results in missed calls and inefficiency for teams relying on shared inbound call handling.
Requested Enhancement:
Modify the Ring Settings feature so that if one user declines an incoming call, it continues to ring other assigned users until:
Another user answers, or
The defined ring timeout is reached.
Optionally, introduce a toggle such as “Continue ringing other users if one declines” under the Ring Settings configuration.
Use Case / Customer Impact:
Teams using shared extensions or multi-user ring groups (e.g., front desk, admin, or support staff) prefer the simplicity of Ring Settings but face missed calls when one member declines.
Call Queues handle this better, but not all customers want or need full queue functionality.
This enhancement would provide greater flexibility and improve customer satisfaction for users relying on Ring Settings for small teams or shared lines.
