Add Option for Static Routing as Default for VoIP Calls
Currently, RingCentral uses dynamic carrier routing, where outbound VoIP calls are automatically directed through different underlying carriers based on network conditions, load balancing, or regional availability.
While this approach helps optimize performance, some organizations would prefer static routing — where calls consistently route through a fixed underlying carrier or network path.
Static routing provides several benefits, including:
- Predictable call behavior and quality across routes
- Simplified troubleshooting and traceability (important for enterprise and regulated industries)
- Reduced variability in call routing results when diagnosing intermittent issues
At present, static routing is only available as a paid or special provisioning setup, but it would be extremely useful if RingCentral could make static routing available as a configurable option by default (e.g., through the admin portal or via support request), without additional cost.

We have had issues with outbound calls from our IVR not connecting, and since this is used for our out of office emergency number it is a business critical function for us. I have been advised by one of the many technical support staff I have worked with on this issue over the past year that this feature request will help make our outbound calling more reliable. Ring Central are on 2 strikes with us on the issue of reliable outbound calling!
