OTP from Telegram to RingCentral
RingCentral users are frequently unable to receive one-time passwords (OTP) and account verification SMS messages from Telegram.
This critical issue prevents users from securely registering or recovering their Telegram accounts using their dedicated RingCentral business number. The problem is generally understood to be caused by Telegram's security systems classifying RingCentral numbers as "VoIP," which blocks the delivery of the short code SMS.
Call to Action:
We request that RingCentral proactively engage with Telegram and the major Application-to-Person (A2P) SMS aggregators to formally white-list or re-categorize RingCentral numbers. This change is necessary to ensure these business numbers are treated as reliable endpoints for essential security and verification messages, providing a complete and secure business communication solution.
