RingCentral Appstream Support
Requesting that RingCentral develop an official media optimization and redirection plugin specifically for Amazon AppStream 2.0 to parity the support currently offered for Citrix, VMware, and Azure Virtual Desktop. Currently, the lack of a dedicated plugin forces all audio and video processing to occur on the AWS server-side rather than the local endpoint, which frequently results in degraded call quality, high latency, and "robotic" voice issues for users. Furthermore, this architectural limitation compels customers to provision more expensive, compute-optimized AWS instances (such as c5 or g4dn types) to handle the heavy lifting of real-time media encoding, significantly driving up the total cost of ownership. By providing a certified deployment guide and a technical redirection solution, RingCentral would allow the application to offload media processing to the user's local hardware, ensuring high-performance communication and maintaining a competitive edge as more enterprise organizations transition to AWS-native End User Computing solutions.
