User should be able to pick up calls placed on hold even if another extension ansewered their phone
Our phones are setup so that all calls forward to a specific extension (e.g. user 1) and then a ring group simultaneously rings all other extensions. If user 1 picks up the call and wants to give the call to a different extension, the call can be placed on hold and any other extension with presence enabled can pick up the call (no transfer needed). However, if a user other than 1 picks up the call and wants to give it back to user 1, if the call is placed on hold, user 1 cannot pick up the line (even though presence is enabled). The call must be transferred back to user 1. Would like to have user 1 be able to pick up calls placed to their extension even if another user initially picked up the call.

Our phones are setup so that all calls forward to a specific extension (e.g. user 1) and then a ring group simultaneously rings all other extensions. If user 2 picks up the call, other users' deskphones do not show that user 2 is on the phone. If user 2 makes an outbound call, all phones correctly show that user 2 is on the phone. Would like deskphones to correctly show the user status independent of the origination of the call.

We have the exact polycom phone as we had with our previous VOIP provider but for some Reason Ring Central cannot setup the function of receiving a call and placing it on hold and answering the second call coming in, as our previous provided setup for us. Somehow our previous provider was able to create 3 lines that all rang as our primary phone number. If someone called our main line, one of those 3 lines would blink and ring on 4 different phones, who could answer the phone. If one person answered the line, and a second call came in on our primary phone number the second line would blink while we were on the phone and we had an option to put that first person on hold. and pick up the second line that was blinking and answer the phone, while the first person who called our main line was on hold. All 4 people who had the primary line ring at their desk saw on their physical phone 3 extensions 100 (which was our primary line), and 2 extensions that was their own extension. I have talked to numerous people in support saying this is not a capability of RingCentral. They suggested i put my suggestion on this forum.
