Silence Detection and Automatic Voicemail Termination
When the voicemail system detects no valid speech or audible input for five consecutive seconds, such as during silent robocalls, it should:
- Play a prompt informing the caller that no audio was detected.
- Allow one additional attempt to provide a response.
- Automatically terminate the call and discard the voicemail if silence continues
Business Significance:
This feature would prevent silent or automated calls from generating unnecessary voicemail recordings and consuming billable toll-free minutes. It would reduce operating costs, minimize unwanted voicemail traffic, and improve the overall efficiency of toll-free number management.
