Special button to record calls on physical phone
Customer would like to have a special button that he can press to record a call on a physical phone

Agreed, this would be a great addition to have on the Desk phone, especially coming from a PBX system that has this feature currently as a programmable key on the desk phone.
I do believe that if you can gain access to the Desk Phone's interface, you may be able to program it in there. -

When I'm on a call using the ACO Web app there is a "Record" button on the dialpad, yet when I am on a call with my J139 desk phone I have to do an old-school "*9" in order to start (and stop) the recording. I want to be able to give my end users (I'm the admin) the ability to press a soft key/line key to start and stop the recording. There's no reason we all should have to remember that "*9" means start/stop recording.

Until they get that for you. I believe you can use *9 during the call to start recording.
