Charging extra $250 per year for the same number (just two different locations) seems like price gauging. In todays world, I should be able to have a phone at my office and the same phone at my home for the same price. Remember I can not use them both at the same time.
Due to the fact that it is only one line (you can not use simultaneously) there should only be one charge.

@Lisa, I presume that you are an RC admin at your workplace. First thing I'd do is start by going into your user profile. Go to Devices and Numbers, click on Add Phone and then select the device you'll have at home from the device inventory. Follow through with the rest of the sections in the Add Phone screen, and that should allow you to have 2 or more devices connected to your user. You'll need to have the new device in your RC phone inventory, and you'll want to have a few direct inward dial phone numbers sitting in your available inventory. You'll need both to be conveniently there to add a phone to your existing user. If the add phone process doesn't work, then you'll need to set up the new phone device as a hot desk. The device will still have to be registered in your RC phone inventory before you can make it a hot desk.

You could set up the home line as a hot desk phone in RC, and then log into it when you are at home. We have many hot desk phones as we have some staff that do not have permanent desks and therefore when they land at a desk, all they have to do is log in to the hot desk phone at that desk and they have a device ready to use. You may also want to consider using the softphone in the RingCentral app on your home office computer. Just get a headset and take and make calls from the software on the computer, no device needed. You could also put the RC app on your mobile phone and it will ring you just like any mobile call. I also have one unique setup at my office where we have a user that has both a desk phone and a wireless phone. Both phones are registered to that user and simultaneously ring on inbound calls. We pay for RC on a per user basis. You'll want to check your contract, but in ours, we pay for the user regardless of how many devices they connect to RC or how they use RC (desk phone, wireless phone, app on computer, app on mobile).

I can't believe they want to charge an extra $250 to have a second desk phone for my home office with the same phone number. Many people work at an office and at home. We should be able to have a desk phone at both locations. Ring Central is expensive and should not try and get extra money out of us. Unbelievable! I already bought the second phone and can't use it now.

This is important for people who work from more than one location and prefer a physical phone. I'm very surprised this isn't possible already, it's 2025!

We need this, it shouldn't be an excuse to try and get more money out of us to do this
