User-Initiated Do Not Originate (DNO) List Submission
Current Functionality:
RingCentral's platform does not currently provide a user-facing option to directly submit or request that a company's numbers be added to a "Do Not Originate" (DNO) list. This process is typically managed through external industry-level databases and regulatory bodies, often without a streamlined user interface within the communication platform itself.
Requested Functionality:
We request the implementation of a feature within the RingCentral Admin Portal that allows customers to easily submit their "inbound-only" numbers for inclusion on a reputable "Do Not Originate" (DNO) list. This would be a proactive measure to protect our customers' brand reputation and prevent their numbers from being used in illegal robocalls and scamming activities.
Use Cases:
1. Major Bank/Financial Institution: The bank's widely-publicized, inbound-only customer service numbers are frequently spoofed. By adding them to the DNO list, they can prevent fraudulent outbound calls from appearing to be from their number, reducing scam incidents and associated customer calls.
2. E-commerce Company: The company's toll-free support number is being used in a widespread robocall campaign. The support team is overwhelmed with calls from confused and angry consumers. Submitting the number to the DNO list would block these fraudulent calls at the carrier level.
3. Government Agency: A federal agency's main phone number, which is only used for inbound inquiries, is being spoofed to run a phishing scam. Adding the number to a DNO list would protect citizens from these scams.
Priority: High - This feature addresses a critical and growing problem in the telecommunications industry and is a high-value offering for our enterprise customers.
Impact: Improved customer satisfaction, enhanced brand reputation for our clients, and a stronger, more secure communication ecosystem.
