SMS for Call Queues is coming-- as in if a text is sent to a call queue number, there will be an inbox available for one agent to respond to those SMS.
I know the core of this request is to have a shared SMS inbox where multiple people can send and receive SMS from the inbox. Our product teams are aware of this ask, but I do not have more information about if/when this segment of the ask is coming.

366 votesUpdated 9/8/23: This has been moved to Q1 2024Hi everyone, this is planned as a two parter: coming in December 2022, users will be able to select which number their outbound texts are sent through in settings. Coming later in 2023, users will be able to select their outbound number in the separate messaging window (not just in settings). This only addresses outbound caller ID. If you would like to see a more shared inbox group texting option, please vote for these ideas: Add a text message queue similar to the call queueTexts should go to multiple users

This is a huge issue for us. We're already fighting with Presence showing incorrectly, this just adds insult to injury. There should be a yellow "Idle" presence if anything. Not an "Offline" after inactivity. In our tests, "Inactivity" = being "away" from your Ring Central app/not actively clicking in it. Our users may be reviewing policies in a different window for 30 minutes or so and then become inactive. This is extremely confusing to our Receptionists who are trying to place calls, but see people inactive, when they're actually in the office. The Inactivity should come from true system inactivity where the system has been idle, not the desktop application interaction. That would denote true inactivity for a user. And I believe that still should show as a yellow "Idle" presence. Definitely not "Offline".
