We are working to implement Okta user authentication in our environment, both for desktop authentication and M365 authentication.

verbatim from cx; When I would text a client, their phone number would appear next to their name in the text messaging section. For some reason, it no longer appears. Is this a system update, or did I change a setting somehow?

TEXT MESSAGE SMS NUMBER WE SENT FROM
It's important to see the number where the customer sent the text from. To know which assigned number it came from and to track the customer's information. Please put back the feature on the RC Desktop App and Mobile App. Screenshot was taken 03/26/2024 at that time we can see from what number we were texting from.

Hi everyone, we hear you, we know this was impacted in the latest update. This is being researched now to confirm when a fix can be implemented.

Team/Group SMS Feature for Clients
We really need this feature so clients can text our "support team, customer service team, etc." and allow several people on our company team be able to view & reply to these messages.
Nextiva just rolled out with this feature last month (Feb. 2024). Let's see it already RingCentral, please! Don't let Nextiva outpace you on features. They've been rolling out really nice back to back features in the past 2 months.

Please put the timestamps back into the texts on the desktop app.
This is necessary for our job in order to track when we text/receive messages to/from our travelers that we work with. This update is unnecessary and is making our whole company struggle. Please put the texts back to how they were.

including an image in the sms text templates
Please update the new sms text templates (LOVE THIS FEATURE!) to allow you to include an image. I send out a text message to every new patient with directions and other various details. I always include an image of a parking map for them. The template is fantastic but I still have to go find the image every time and attach it. The template saves me from copy and pasting the text but not the image. I still have to keep that 'note' clip on my desktop so it's found easily. It would be FANTASTIC if you could allow an…

Allowing Assigned non-Super Admin users to participate in viewing and sending SMS messages using the Company Main Number
As of now, only the Super Admin, while using the RC mobile app, can toggle between their user phone number and the company main number for SMS'ing. We would like to have many non-super admin users (inbound call reps) be able to see and respond to SMS communication on the company main line. This way, the first person available can address the matter in the SMS most quickly.

Create a a tab for the text messages views that shows which messaging threads you have not responded to (i.e. the other person sent the most recent message). As someone who reaches out to hundreds of numbers every day, this would help me ensure that no one goes without a response!

Disable GIF in SMS for RC mobile app
We would like for RingCentral to disable the ability for users to be able to post GIFs in text messages on the RC mobile app. It doesn't appear that the GIF function is built into the app (rather, it's a keyboard shortcut option on one's smart phone) but this opens up the possibility for users to send inappropriate images (internally or externally).

The Numbers That A User Used to Call Out Should Appear in The List for Texting/SMS
The numbers that they called in should appear in the list of SMS recipients though the numbers are not saved.
the customer should be able to send text messages by selecting the numbers on the recent logs for easy texting
customer can easily send a text message by selecting a number on a recent dropdown even if the numbers are not saved on the contacts

Different SMS recipients for Main Number and IVR Menus
Currently we are only able to set 1 SMS recipient inside the Auto Receptionist's General Settings. This SMS recipient is used for both our company Main Number and for all IVR Menus. We'd like to have the possibility of assigning an SMS recipient that's different from the Main Number SMS recipent to our IVR Menus.

Migrating SMS Content from one Extension to Another
We encounter a problem where our main extension isn't following the correct call forwarding that was set up on the user extension. Tech rep fixed the issue by recreating the extension itself. The issue is when the newly created extension doesn't have the SMS content that we originally had on the corrupted extension and I found out that there's no way to transfer the SMS from one corrupted extension to the new recreated one other than manually forwarding it.
