Add an audio tone for calls being transferred
My business would appreciate the option of an audio cue that occurs after an incoming call is transferred to you after a warm transfer on the desk phones. Currently it is difficult to distinguish when the call with the person transferring the call ends and when the transferred call begins. I request the option for a beep or short tone between the two calls.

110 new users would be benefit from this functionality and I agree, seems like a quick fix.

Please, this is such a necessary (and seemingly simple) fix! Transferring calls within our office is extremely awkward as the transferee is unaware when the call goes live, causing an awkward pause btwn our staff and clients.

We have to say "BEEP" ourselves every time we transfer someone and it hurts our throats

According to a RingCentral tech support agent - this is being worked on and planned to be added to the RC apps only (not desk phones) in Q3 2024. The agent said that if you are interested in this being added to physical desk phones a separate idea would need to be submitted.
I've added a new idea specific to desk phones, please vote on it here: https://ideas.ringcentral.com/forums/958493-phone-messaging/suggestions/48559631-add-an-audio-tone-for-calls-being-transferred-de

This idea was already submitted and is in the works to be deployed in RingCetral apps in Q3 2024 (link above). However according to a tech support agent - that idea is ONLY being deployed in the RC apps. The agent said a new idea specific for physical desk phones would need to be submitted separately - hence this post.

- Apart from the current supported "Warm transfer" or "Ask first" option on the RC App, there should be an indicator on the incoming call pop-up if the call is transferred from an extension.
- This saves time instead of warm transferring the call and this also increases the efficiency of handling incoming calls that can be differentiated from an actual first hand call.
- See screenshot as sample recommendation. -

Having an indication that the call has been transferred would indeed avoid any confusion.

Also on the supported Yealink phones you only see the number of the person who transferred the call and not the caller id from the originating phone. This is an issue.

I agree with Lisa. We are going live with RingCentral at the end of the month and this is a huge learning curve for our employees. This tone is the queue to start talking. I get that the caller id will change, but this doesn't help when using the mobile app and driving in your car. Our current phone system already provides this feature today along with our cloud contact center. Are there any recent updates to share?

Please add a tone or notification when a call is transferred to another user's extension. Currently, if a call is transferred there is no notification to prepare for the caller. Seems like a simple fix.

This is a basic feature that was even on our old phone system. Would be a great and easy addition.

I absolutely agree! However if you are looking a the dial pad when the other member clicks transfer, you will notice a change in the hold option I believe? That indicates the customer is no long on hold and is in the conversation with you.

YES! How has this not been added as a default feature and has taken 2 years to be "under review" is beyond me.

At the moment, as a recipient of a warm transfer, we have no idea if the caller has been passed to us or if we are still talking to the person doing the transfer.
It would be good if we get an audio cue on both ends of the transfer so we can tell if the call has been transferred successfully or not.
