RingCentral desktop app (Mac) - Don't use system sound output for voicemail playback
In the RC App for Mac, the app uses the in-app Audio Sources settings for everything (audio calls, video meetings, etc) except for voicemail playback. Voicemail playback defaults to the Mac system sound output settings and cannot be changed. This design is problematic as it requires the user to either:Set the system sound output to match the Speaker Source setting in the RC App (e.g., a phone headset) so that all audio (RC and system) play through this single output; or Have calls handled via the RC Speaker Source (e.g., a phone headset) and voicemails played back via different source…

RC app search by department
In the RingCentral desktop app, would be a good option to be able to search by information found in the user profile, such as Department and Location.Often times in larger organizations, someone may be trying to reach someone in a particular department or location for a need, but may not know a name in that department or location.

The Ability to Choose to Leave a Message or be Forwarded to a Backup Person
I think it would be excellent capability for an Out of Office message to allow a caller to choose to leave a message on the direct line of the person they called, or be forwarded to a backup person (without establishing an IVR).

Intercom use within a shared line
We have a customer who has a single shared line with 8 phones. They need two way communication (intercom) internally on their shared line. Is there anyway we can get internal shared line intercom functionality? There are 8 phones in this group with a total of 4 lines. If you think about the way landline phones work if they pickup a phone on line 1. Then a second user picks up another phone selects the same line. That functions as a two way communication with both users being able to talk on that line similar to how intercom would work.…

Call Queue voicemails: Ability to send to multiple extensions instead of going to the online-only "Messages"
Users with Desk phones will have access to Call Queue voicemailsFor example, we have a call queue with custom rules to send calls to different users. If a caller leaves a voicemail it should go to the intended recipient of the call queue (or at least to the voicemail box of all managers assigned to the call queue)

Assign a live person/extension (or more for simultaneous ring) before hitting the IVR menus.
We have several retail stores. A few of these stores would like to have the option of a live person asnwering the phone before the customers hit an automated IVR. This gives them a chance for a personal touch before going to the IVR as a backup. We can currently do this by creating a new user extension (costing more in licensing) and using the call handling/forwarding options for a live person and the message options to transfer to the IVR extension. This costs more and junks up our address book (where we cannot hide any user/contact added).

Mute Key press on Automatic Call Recording
I would like to recommend a different key presses than *9 to mute/pause automatic call recording. Like it could be *8 for instance. Because I have to press *9 twice to stop the automatic call recording

Would you be able to add two notification features?
Hi there!I am just hoping for a couple of usability upgrades for your platform. Primarily, I would like to be able to adjust notification settings across the whole organization for Teams App chats like I can for incoming calls, texts, and faxes. Currently each user has to change their own through preferences in the app.Secondly, I would like to be able to link these aforementioned App Team chats through email. Currently you are able to post via email, but I would like to be able to connect staff members to a Teams app chat via an email link.Generally, I am…

Zero Out to be based on individual users instead of on company level.
I would like to have callers who dial zero during a voicemail greeting (during business hours) be re-routed to a queue or that queues voicemail after hours. Currently we only have one option to route them to the main office queue. It would be more efficient to have them sent directly to another agent rather than having the reception queue transfer back to the corporate queue during business hours.

Survey option after phone call has ended
We use a hunt group within the Human Resources Department to answer Suez internal and external calls. We would like to employ a brief survey of questions after the call is completed to identify if their satisfaction level.

Consolidated Dashboard for Multiple RC Accounts
I own four physical tutoring franchises that now have one combined virtual tutoring center where we service our students online. Since we receive calls and texts from all four numbers, our weekend manager needs three computers and a cell phone all logged in to different accounts to ensure we can provide customer support. We recently installed LiveChat on all four websites, and I was struck by how easily it is for us to interact with customers on their dashboard where I can see messages from all four websites and know where they are coming from. If something similar to this could…

Visual cues for audio activity within phone calls
RingCentral App Feature request: When using multiple speaker and microphone devices on a given system, callers can be unsure of whether their microphone is working, especially when leaving a voice mail to which the call recipient cannot verify the caller is being heard, perhaps if they have not selected the appropriate microphone device. In a similar case, a caller cannot hear a call recipient after placing a call if they have not selected the proper playback device. To assist with this confusion, display the selected audio devices (speakers and microphone) within the dialpad on every call, and show a vertical or…

Add 40-45 Second to "Maximum Wait Time is Reached, send caller to" option under wait settings.
Everyone will benefit from this option. The wait time before transferring to VM or another line only has the option of 30 seconds (not enough time) or 1 minute (most callers will hang up after 1 minute)

Allows Sites to be an option on the Messages Group Options for a User or Queue
We are trying to emulate a feature in our current Avaya PBX that allows multiple extensions to forward to the same IVR menu. For example dialing 12345 or 54321 would end up at a common IVR at 55500. We have custom hours and calling rules setup around 55500 and we would like those to be honored from any of the numbers that were called. It is proposed we setup the 55500 IVR as a separate Site, that allows the handling rules to be shared regardless of which original extension was dialed. However to achieve this we would need to have Sites…

Themes for the new Desktop App
We have been using Classic (Glip) for our team messaging and do not like the new Desktop App replacement because it lacks the ability to change Themes or to customize the layout/colors in any way other than accepting the 'light' or 'dark' modes, neither of which are either pleasing or suitable. Please consider adding back in the ability to change the Theme, or to modify the background and font colors on each section.

Add the option to disable messages for Call Queues to route to another Group like you can for a User.
In a User account, under Messages, the option exists to Disable Take Messages and then choose How To Handle Missed Calls and Connect Directly To Group. I would like to see that functionality carried over to Groups - Call Queues to allow more options in call routing such as if the call is not answered in the initial Call Queue, the call can be routed to another Call Queue with an expanded list of Members.

More detailed log information
It would be very useful to have access to additional log details when troubleshooting problems like faxes failing. Right now the only details are generic entries like Receive Error, Partial Receive and Unknown. I have to open a ticket with RingCentral support to find out the details from the internal logs that only support has access to view.

Add control for Integrated Calendar Notifications
In the RingCentral App, it would be really beneficial to have the ability to turn off calendar notifications so that entries which exist in the original calendar (Outlook, Gmail) don't send a duplicate notification in Ring Central. At this point, the only way to prevent this is to unlink the calendar (removing the ability to create meeting invites from Ring Central) or mute all notifications (making the soft phone functionality unusuable)
